Louisville-based Borderless wins Startup of the Year in US FinTech Awards
A Louisville-based financial technology company has been named Startup of the Year by US FinTech Awards.
Borderless, an online business-to-business payment processor, was chosen out of hundreds of applicants from across the country last week. The startup was actually a finalist in two categories for the awards program: Startup of the Year and Payment Tech of the Year.
Raffi Kayat, co-founder and CEO of Borderless, said he and his staff were thrilled to be chosen out of such a high-caliber lineup of companies. In addition to Borderless, Startup of the Year finalists included 1touch.io, Argyle, Clear Street and SmartFox Technologies.
“I think combined, the startups in that category had raised more than $100 million,” he said. “Some companies were five or six times our size. That’s why we are so excited about it — we didn’t expect to win.”
